Carmen Teo came into contact with Yoga in 2006 due to her spine issues. She suffered from additional health issues from 2010 to 2012 that were unexplained by western science which finally motivated her to take a break from the corporate world and investigate the root cause of her ailment.
Following a Yoga Instructor’s training program in 2012, she became intrigued by the holistic benefits of yoga across the physical, vital, mental, intellectual and bliss “bodies”. After months of disciplined practice combined with her ongoing mindfulness practices, she finally gained awareness of her health conditions and started on the path of mind-body practices that enable her to maintain a healthy living.
Her own learning journey encouraged her to move into actual teaching. Today, Carmen uses Yoga as an integrative approach towards the maintenance and prevention of physical and mental ailments. She teaches both adults and children, in groups and privately. In her adult yoga group classes, she focuses on helping participants improve awareness on their breath, the bridge between the mind and body, and the gateway to a balanced health. In children yoga classes, she uses Yoga to help kids develop important life skills in a fun and non-competitive way.
Carmen holds Yoga Instructor and Therapy Certificates from Swami Vivekananda Yoga Anusandhana Samsthana (VYASA) Yoga Institute of Bangalore India, as well as Yoga for Kids and Families Teaching Certificate from Rainbow Kids Yoga. She is also a Mindfulness Trainer who receives her qualifications from the US and the UK. She has a Bachelor Degree from NUS Business School and Master Degree from Cornell University and had 15 years of successful corporate working experience.
Carmen is currently taking a break from her regular yoga classes to focus on her Doctoral research program and mindfulness work.
